Representatives of Dominican Republic, Mexico, Honduras, Venezuela and Colombia met in the Colombian city of Cartagena to analyze a series of strategies against the drug trafficking, informed today the National Direction of Control of Drugs Dominican (DNCD) in a communiqué. In the International Conference XXXII for the Control of Drugs (IDEC), celebrated during Three days in the Colombian city, actions appeared to neutralize and to dismantle the movement of the rapid crafts, known as Go Fast, besides the pollution with drugs of the port containers. The Dominican delegation in this forum, copatrocinado for the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in the year 1983, was headed by the president of the DNCD, Julio Cesar Souffront Velazques.
The Dominican representation realized contacts first hand with the anti-drug authorities of different countries with which the DNCD develops joint investigations, or from whom he needed information about cases in investigation. Inside the conclusions, there was presented as an achievement of the colloquium the signature of a " Agreement of Interinstitutional Cooperation between the DNCD and the State police of Colombia, to offset the illicit traffic of narcotics, psychotropic substances and connected crimes. With this agreement the direct communication remained opened for the exchange of liaison officers between both parts. One of the particular achievements of Colombia in this edition of the IDEC, was to record the signature of an agreement of international cooperation between this country and Dominican Republic, precisely, to be employed as a whole at the anti-drug fight.
In the meeting it was found that the special session of the General Assembly of the United Nations that will be celebrated next year to establish goals to reaching for 2019 on the world problematics of the drugs, will be the scene to check and to re-design the approach of the world politics you antidrug. This meeting of the IDEC, which is celebrated every year by the participation of 109 countries and 189 delegates, Peru host was chosen as country in the next anti-drug summit.
