FRANCE ASKS GOOGLE TO ERASE LINKS IN THE WHOLE WORLD

The French agency of protection of information ordered Google to withdraw the results of searches in the whole world if it receives requests to do it, saying that the " right to the oblivion " of the European citizens it is applied worldwide. The order issued Friday by CNIL comes more than one year after the high European court trumped that the people have right to controlling what appears when a search is realized by his name in Internet.

Google says that from the decision of May, 2014 it received more than 268.000 requests to withdraw directions URL, but if the search is realized from a web of the seeker out of Europe still they can turn the eliminated links. All the orders are not granted: the public figures cannot erase a sordid episode about which it has informed the press, and the criminal convictions also can continue in the network. According to the company, Facebook contains the major quota of erased URL.

But it is enough to go on to Google's domain out of Europe to find the link erased with a couple of clicks. Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, chairwoman of the CNIL, said that the request to withdraw these links worldwide " is to say to him to the international companies that operate in Europe that they must adjust to the European legislation ". In a communiqué, Google said that it was expiring with the approach of the demand on European users. Google said that it was taking measures to fulfill the order of the EU, but he did not say if it would respect the French order. " The failure centered in services directed European users, and that one is our criterion on having respected it ", said Google in a communiqué.
